Some mountain guides take you to the top of the mountain and other take you on a hiking tour. Winston went climbing in a gulch together with a personal mountain guide. Not just any guide but a bergführer, as they call in some parts of Europe.

Special trained mountaineers
Mountain guides are specially trained and experienced mountaineers. They are considered experts in mountaineering. Their skills usually include climbing, skiing and hiking. Their knowledge includes furthermore the topics rocks, weather, navigation, avalanches and health. This professional class of guides arose in the middle of the 19th century when Alpine climbing became recognized as a sport.
