Table Mountain Abseil I
During our stay in South Africa we went up the Table Mountain in Cape Town to go abseiling. At 1000 metres above sea level, it is the world's original highest commercial abseil. Abseiling or rappelling is descending from top of the mountain down a vertical surface by means of a double anchored rope. It can be a dangerous sport, in fact, experienced climbers find abseiling more dangerous than climbing itself. In this first part of our Table Mountain abseil item we got some instructions and got ready to descent from Table Mountain. Some of us had their doubts and got a bit scared right before the real action was going to take place.
